Chill Pills

This was originally posted as "Not Big Enough?", hence the weird lead-in.  My writing style has obviously changed over the years.  I read as manic even to myself.

FIX IT.  American ingenuity at its…well, if not weirdest, probably one of the stranger examples.  This was a spur-of-the-moment gift for Turq, the guy who hosts rmwerx.  He was brave and awesome enough to install WordPress for me, and so I inquired as to what might make a nice return gift.  He said ibuprofen is always nice to have.  Off I went, in my gratitude, to find the largest bottle possible (without having AARP privileges, anyway).  Wal-Mart disappointed me in the size department, though…  SO I DECIDED THEN AND THERE I SHOULD FIX THIS.

 

By MAKING the biggest bottle possible.  Or well, the biggest one of which I was capable, anyway.  I’d run across this tutorial a few weeks before, while looking for things to sew for possible cash.  It didn’t look too hard…but then depending on how long and how personally you may have known me, you know I can make things complicated in no time.

 

It’s a talent.

 

Well, sewing together a giant plush pill bottle wouldn’t be a problem.  I mean, I had leftover fleece and have been stockpiling felt for months.

what, OH WHAT, will it be??

Except if I was going to have a crapton of ibuprofen in there, it couldn’t exactly be rattling around loose.  Enter Mom, who’d been parading jar-shaped objects before me since I’d asked if we had anything truly huge to measure off of.  The peanut-butter jar worked perfectly!

JIF brand ibuprofen.  Disclaimer:  this is not actually a thing.

That other thing there is the ‘cap’ I made to go over top of the Jif jar’s cap.  The jar sits down inside a little pocket in the big jar.  The bottom of the bottle, and the sides and top/bottom of the ‘cap’ are lined with cardboard to help them keep their shape.

Chill Pills are born.  Deal with it B)

The Post Office assures me it should arrive in its new owner’s arms by next Monday.  I’m betting that a) Turq never runs out of ibuprofen, ever…and b) nobody will steal any because they’ll be far more likely to pick this thing up and hug it XD
